Please join us for our weekly meditation practice. The session is open to the public and there is no charge.

The Gainesville Shambhala Meditation Group, offers a weekly public meditation session, and talks based on Buddhist and Shambhala teachings. We meet every Tuesday at the United Church of Gainesville at 6 pm for meditation and a talk.

Shambhala Training - Level I

The Art of Being Human.
Shambhala Training Level I. Directed by Dr. Paula Bickford. Dr. Bickford is a Professor of Pharmacology at the Center of Excellence for Aging and Brain Repair at USF. She is also the Director of the St. Petersburg Meditation Group.

This weekend retreat program introduces participants to the practice of sitting meditation and to the connection with one's own Basic Goodness. It is open to people of all traditions and backgrounds. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life as opportunities for both awareness practice and the development of compassion.

Shambhala Training consists of three main sections. The Heart of Warriorship, Sacred Path, and Warrior Assembly. Level I is the first of five weekend retreats in the first sectsion, The Heart of Warriorship.
